Paul Horn
1921 - 1999 |
|
In 1969, Paul Horn founded Paul Horn Einstechen in a small
workshop in Gomaringen, Germany to manufacture special
carbide grooving inserts.
The company grew rapidly as its reputation for quality
grooving solutions spread, and this resulted in a move to
larger premises in the neighboring town of Tübingen.

Reorganization
of the production and administration in new facility
at Steinlachwasen, Tübingen, Germany. |

of the company into Hartmetall-Werkzeugfabrik Paul
HORN GmbH. |

Additional
building of the production with available space of
6,300 sq. ft. |

1991: |
The
production is moved to Unter dem Holz, Tübingen,
Germany with a production area of 25,000 sq. ft. Formation
of the company HORN Hartstoffe GmbH. |

Foundation
of HORN France, in Brie Compte Robert. |

1995: |
Foundation
of HORN UK, in New Milton, Hampshire. |

Foundation
of HORN USA, in Franklin, Tennessee. HORN
France moves to larger facility at Moissy Cramayel.

Addition
of 55,000 sq. ft extension of the Unter dem
Holz building to house the administration and increase
production area. HORN UK moves to larger
facility in Ringwood, Hampshire. |

Foundation of
HORN Magyarorszag Kft, in Gyor, Hungary. HORN USA begins production of inch standard product at
Franklin, TN facility. |

Lothar
Horn
|
|
In 1992, Paul Horn's son Lothar became Managing Director and in
1993 he founded the subsidiary HORN France. This was
followed in 1995 by the formation of HORN UK, and HORN USA
opened during 1998. This took the total number of HORN employees throughout the world to over 500.

|
|
|
Following continued growth and expansion of the Tübingen
facility, a brand new purpose-built factory was
erected to house increased production capacity.
|
|
|
|
Following further demand for HORN grooving solutions, a 55,000
sq. ft. extension was added to the new
factory during 1999 to house sales and
administration, product design, training and
demonstration facilities, as well as additional
production capacity.
