imX Review
HORN USA just returned from exhibiting at the inaugural event of imX – “Interactive Manufacturing Experience”, that took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center - Las Vegas, NV - September 12-14, 2011. The dual objectives of better customer engagement and a higher level of technical education were very well presented by exhibitors and well received by the customers. The event size was 120,700 sq ft overall, with 118 eXhibit partners participating. Ending numbers for attendees were at 4,388 pre-registered and 3,072 verified as attending.
While only in it's first year, the imX event drew significant interest from the media, both pre-event and onsite. This was mainly due to the unique experience that was a mix of educational and technology. With the “Learning Labs” that consisted of larger groups, the focus is on technical knowledge and industry expertise that will propel the U.S. manufacturing industry forward. While the smaller more intimate “Knowledge Bars” are where an attendee is able to sit down with some of the industry leaders for one on one interaction. These educational experiences were designed for the meaningful exchange of information between buyers and sellers. Overall the consensus is the event was hugely successful and will be part of the marketing mix again in 2013.
